Step count daily summary activities.

Hi,

Can anyone tell me why Garmin have removed the step count from the daily activities table:

https://connect.garmin.com/modern/daily-summary/username/2016-03-15/activities

I found it invaluable for working out how many steps I'd take each day outside of any activities I did. Does anyone know any way to find this information now apart from guessing from the bar charts?

Thanks in advance.

Paul.

I have called the helpdesk in the UK and they are looking into it. They couldn't see the steps column either. I already have an open case with the USA for steps showing up on this tab for indoor cycling and I told them the field had now disappeared. They gave me some instructions to re-instate it which didn't make sense to me or the UK helpdesk so they are looking at that as well.
I will post an update when I get one.

Just for clarity, I am using the PC webpage not a phone app.

My count is gone too. Also yesterday I had a few thousand steps and showed 0 cals burned but should have been around 100 based on previous days and steps.

Step Cal's are logging ok today both on connect and mfp again.

Yes same here. Steps are not converting to calories. In fact my calories are showing as a negative earned!

    Response from Garmin Europe:

I am contacting you following your telephone contact with my colleague Ben.
We confirmed that there is no way to turn the Steps column in the Activities table back on at this time.

You are welcome to use the Feedback page on our website to request this feature to be returned:

    Apologies for any inconveniences caused.

TBH, I'm not even sure they realised this feature had disappeared, but more importantly it seems that the calorie count on the daily steps line is broken.

Garmin, part of the idea of wearing an activity tracker is to do more steps, raise Heart Rate, and burn more calories. I assume that was the idea of the daily steps/calories line on the activity tab. So you gain calories for an activity and you gain calories if you are generally more active. This should be presented on the daily steps line in terms of extra steps and extra calorie burn. THis is then matched by calorie consumption from apps like Myfitnesspal. We now have a situation where the steps value has been removed, and the additional calories added is broken also. Despite being fairly active this morning as confirmed by my HR trace I have supposedly gained 5 calories by 1pm. Oh, and the import from Myfitnesspal into this report is broken also. So if this is the normal state of affairs then the 24*7 tracking is now completely broken and completely useless. And that is on top of the poor sampling rate for the 24*7 tracking that we now have to put up with, with this version of firmware.

I do try not to exaggerate on forums when something apparently isn't working or use terms such as "completely useless" but it seems that's where I am at, at the moment. If others are seeing something different to me then please shout and I will take this as an isolated incident and try and resolve my issue with Garmin.

    Thanks for the update Paul_G2.

I have put in a suggestion and hope others do too. It was a feature used by me on a daily basis. Particularly as I do a lot of other activities. It was important for me to be able to separate out the non-activity step count.

    Kind regards,

    Paul.

Well the good news is that my additional calorie count has went up to 220 calories but it still seems very low for what I have done today. (2.41pm)

Update, additional calorie count now up to 329 from 220and I haven't synch'd since 2.41pm. Very strange. At least the figure is looking reasonable now. Not sure if its just slow background processing or something to do with Myfitnesspal integration now working properly.
