Garmin Connect "Modern" is bloated junkware and doesn't work; support useless

Garmin Modern still won't sync scheduled training plan workouts to my 310XT properly.
It did for a while, but hey Garmin "updated" (read "broke") it.
It does sync custom workouts that I create in the calendar.
It used to work with Classic, but getting to Classic now seems to have been removed.
Lots of people on the forum have the same issues and still no resolution or admission that there's a problem.

When it comes time replace my watch I won't ever buy Garmin again.
No problems with the watch but the software is junk and support is worse than useless.

Disillusioned former Garmin customer and now detractor.
  • Yes, bad with Linux too

Yes, I too have been 'forcibly migrated' to Modern:

    - Clearly hasn't been tested, except perhaps on Macs by the hipsters that 'designed' it
    - Some bits spin and give a blank page, too much javascript, too little 'thought', very probably
    - All the tabular and useful precision of the classic reports seems to have gone, presumably into Garmin 'you are (now) the product' data heaven
    - I've managed to produce a jboss error page by URL hacking, so the underlying framework is part of the problem
    - I've had a cycle path from New York (suggested?!) although I run in London

Yes, no more Garmin for me whenever this watch stops working. Thanks for nothing hipsters, who need to learn 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it'. I've worked in IT for about 40 years and this is a piece of bloated, flashy, half-finished, half-thought-out junk that hasn't been actually discussed with anyone that would want to use it.
