Reported on the Forerunner 235 forum, but I guess this applied to all users? Previously the activity tab had a steps and calorie breakdown. Now the steps have disappeared! I know there were previously some issues with steps/calorie calculations in some circumstances. Perhaps this is the solution. Just remove steps!!
