Today I logged in to Garmin Connect to find that the old interface was no longer available - or at least, I couldn't find it.
If anyone can guide me to getting the Garmin Connect Classic View back, I would be most thankful.
The new interface leaves me with a feeling that the development team consists of people with excellent graphical skills - but who are not using Connect themselves - and who haven't got a clue of how user-unfriendly Connect has become...
This is what I experience:
- Edit activity is now very tedious. The Quick edit is no longer quick as we now navigate by mouse and can no longer use the TAB key to move from fielt to field.
- Dropdown-element no longer choosable by keyboard (first letter typing). Now I HAVE to click twice using the mouse: Once for selecting the dropdown and once for selecting the item.
- Unstable performance. Clicking "Save" after editing an activity sometimes just greys out the "Save" button. Going back to the activity list and starting all over resolves the problem, but why?...
- Day name is no longer visible when editing an acitivty. So either you need an extra calendar open or you need to switch back and forth between the activity list and the activity in order to see the day name.
- When you edit the name of an activity, the activity is no longer saved when clicking Next activity arrow - only if you remember to click the "Save name" (the little checkmark) first.
- If reporting was bad in the old interface, it is a joke now. Impossible to create custom reports, but stuck with predefined week, month, year periods and no way to export usable data for further analysis in e.g. Excel.
Sorry for nagging, but it really seems like every update is made by people who get great ideas and don't really use the products/sites themselves... And this final "cut the old interface"-action really leaves me with no motivation to recommend Garmin to anyone :(
