The past couple of weeks the Garmin 910XT has refused to transfer several important files I have. I am uploading via ANT stick to Express. It will say the sync has succeeded but when I enter connect the data isn't there yet it is still on the watch. It transfers all the workouts in between. I tried with my cable but it is only a charging cable and not a data cable so it wouldn't ID the device on the computer to pull the files manually. I have also tried creating fake files after these events which it will upload but not the actual even I want. This is driving me bananas! Any advice is greatly appreciated! My next move would be to try to buy a data cable for the Garmin and upload that way.
It is possible that the files have transferred to your computer but not been uploaded to Garmin Connect. If that is the case. you could upload then by using the "import" link on the "Activities" page in Garmin Connect. (Look for the files on your computer first)
Did you try enabling the "transfer all" function on the watch and then re-sending? The 910xt has an issue where it will sometimes turn off during a transfer, but I don't think that is your situation.
This can happen when the files are damaged. Definitely try "Transfer All," but be prepared to create an Activity manually and type in the data the watch will show you, and lose the rest.
I'm not aware of any hardware hack that will mount the 910XT as a USB drive. I wouldn't try it, either, unless you're prepared to lose not only the two files you're concerned about, but the whole watch. That said, I'm curious, and since I'm thinking about getting a 920XT, I might be willing to try some risky experiments with my 910 - can you post a link to the procedure you're considering?
I think there may be a problem with Garmin express since the last update I have had the issue of my data not uploading. All works fine but no data is transferred.
