Bluetooth pairing difficulty is an outrage

I am absolutely furious how difficult it is to pair my fenix 3 to my galaxy s6 edge plus. It worked a few times but never more than a few hours. I have read countless threads, tricks, do this do that, clear cache, follow these steps in order etc. Now I can't upload any data because I cannot connect it to my phone and therefore not even sync through USB. This issue has been going on for months and months and yet here has been no fix from garmin. I don't believe it is Android either because plenty of iPhone users have the same problem. I am training for an Ironman and am stuck without a working syncing watch.
