Pairing multiple Garmin Devices - does this work?

Hi all,
I have just bought my first Garmin device yesterday! The Forerunner 235, and so far I really like it! (Although I don't have much to compare it with).
My housemate has the Vivofit, and is looking to upgrade to the forerunner 235 after seeing mine. However, she wants to be able to use both devices, i.e. if she were to go for a run in the morning wearing the forerunner, and did 10,000 steps, and then wanted to switch to the vivofit for the afternoon, will the vivofit pick up that she has already done 10,000 steps and continue counting from there? This is of course if both are synced to Garmin Connect. Or - will both devices work independently?

Can she have both devices synced to Garmin Connect? And will it join both sets of information?

Any input you have would be greatly appreciated :)
  • That won't work. Under those circumstances, one approach for her to do would be to set the vivofit as the primary tracker and wear the FR235 for activities. However, even that approach has issues as the FR235 will sync the activities fine but may not sync 24 hour HR if it isn't the primary tracker.

On the other hand, if she doesn't want to wear it all day, it shouldn't be an issue.
