How do I re-instate a deleted Garmin Edge 500 in Garmin Connect?

Recently I tried to sync my Garmin Edge 500 on a friend's PC. The upshot of this was that my Edge 500 ended up on her Garmin.com account. She retired my Edge on her PC which meant I can no longer upload ride data to Connect on my iMac. We tried to un-retire my Edge 500 but no luck. I then deleted my Edge 500 on my Garmin Connect with the intention of reconnecting my Edge 500 and my Connect account. This does not want to work.

Anyone know how to re-connect my Edge 500 to my Connect please?
