has anyone had the same problem? Since the update of software my VO2Max and Training effort are all nonsense. Today for instance I broke my 1 Km record, my 1 mile record and my 5km record and it says my training effort was 2.5 and my VO2Max dropped 1 point. I cannot see how the numbers correlate to anything sensible. How can I break my perosnal records, cough up a lung and it says my training effort was 2.5??????
Well not sure how useful the numbers are but - Training effect is about cumulative impact on your aerobic fitness supposedly. I have found that short runs generally give a lower TE than long runs. My best 5K race gave a TE of 3.9 but typically I get a TE of 5 for any half way decent race performance from 10K upwards.
As for VO2 Max I have found this a little bit random - the fact that you broke records won't necessarily put your VO2 up - if your Heart Rate is not lower than the watch expects for level of performance then VO2 max will stay the same or increase.
Either way these figures are not worth focussing on for a run by run basis but useful for overall trends.
JSRUNNER_ Thanks. Just wish tech that is supposed to help did the job otherwise do not supply it. Will do 16km today see if that has any effect but you are correct getting hung up on these numbers is not a good idea. THANKS!
