Editing distances for walking and cycling work fine for me using OS X 10.11.3 (El Cap) and Safari 9.0.3 so data editing problems do not occur on all Mac systems so the issue is more likely to be at your end than at Garmin Connect. I have heard that some ad blockers cause editing problems.
