Vivo Active Questions

Ok. So I bought a Vivo Active to replace my FitBit Surge. The Surge was having a lot of problems with battery life and just being slow and lagging.

So far, I love this watch. It does everything that I want to it, and more, but.....I am having a few problems.

1) I can't receive notifications on my watch. I have everything turned on. Android says that Garmin is able to access the phone and the bluetooth is connected and paired. Still nothing. I downloaded a new watchface but I don't know if that's the problem.

2) The Move! function doesn't vibrate to notify when I've been inactive. I mean, I hit my step goal every day, but still when I'm lost in work it's nice to be reminded to get up.

3) Since you can't download the training plans to the watch (which I think stinks!), is there a way to link activities to the training plan? They show up on my calendar, but I can't get them to link so that it will all be tidy.

Thanks in advance!!

  • There's actually a forum about the vivoactive which is a good place to look when you have questions:

You'll only get them if you are connected. Also, with Android, you can control what you get from Garmin Connect Mobile in "settings">"Smart Notifications".

I have no problem with notifcations, but the GCM/Andoid forum might be a good place to ask if it doesn't work:

It should vibrate when you first get a move alert (1hr of "too few" steps), and then when you've filled all 5 levels (2hrs of "too few" steps).
If you uninstall the 'Activity Tracking" widget, you win't get them though. Are you getting anything when you hit your step goal?

I don't know, as I've never used training plans.

    Thanks!

I actually got all my questions fixed today except number three. I got frustrated with it not working so I did a factory reset. I lost a few thousand steps from this morning, but my watch works wonderfully now.

If I could just get the workouts to link......
