Garmin Reports/Leaderboard showing incorrect totals

I've run 3 times this week for a total of 16miles (6miles, 4 miles, 6 miles). Every time I did it on a treadmill (traveling for work, where I'm at isn't conducive for outdoors running).

I have a Vivoactive, and for my run on Monday and Tuesday, I accidentally selected Indoor Walking instead of Indoor Running. Realizing my mistake, I edited those workouts to be a treadmill run instead.

Now on my totals, for the week it says I've run 12 miles and walked 4, even though all three activities say "treadmill running" at this point. It's been over a day and it still shows incorrectly.

I've attached some screenshots for reference.

It's not a huge deal of course, but I'm curious if I'm doing something wrong. Any thoughts or has anyone seen this before?

Thanks for your help!
  • It's actually a bigger deal than you say as all of us have been affected by this since November 15th. The way to solve it is to export the changed activity; delete the original; and re-import the changed activity.

The other way to fix it is to make the change within seconds of recording the activity. If you wait a minute, it'll be too long.

Garmin is aware of the issue but hasn't committed to a time-frame for when it will be fixed.
  • That's good to know. Thanks for the heads up and the workaround.
