Had my Vivofit 2 for a year & been waiting patiently for improved categories but still no change & now I've upgraded to the VSHR this is even more frustrating. Really need to see an increase in the types of activities available to catch up with FitBit (although maybe not as completely over the top as FitBit!!) e.g. add HIIT circuits, spin session, jogging, martial arts category (with individual disciplines listed: boxing, kickboxing, judo, karate etc), yoga/pilates, racquet sports category (badminton, tennis etc), team sports category (football, rugby, floorball etc), gymnastics, dancing and so on. And maybe even some not too over the top non-sport activities e.g. gardening, DIY, WiiFit. The more Garmin moves into the activity tracker business, the more it needs to consider a more diverse range of end-users, i.e. not all will be fitness fanatics & sports people.
Appreciate there may be an issue with defining calorie algorythms for each activity, so why not drop these into an over-arching 'category' of Manual Activities that either use the VSHR (or other watch/band) data to show calories where an activity had been recorded or where the activity is being entered manually require the user to input their own calorie burn estimation.
