Force upload?

Is there some way to force an activity to upload to Garmin connect? My Vivoactive says it is connected by Bluetooth (and notifications from my phone are coming through on it fine) but the run I finished two hours ago still hasn't uploaded. This has happened a few times and I've managed to get them to upload by turning Bluetooth on and off, turning the phone on and off, playing around with Connect etc until somehow it magically decided to sync, but today nothing is working. If only there was a button I could press to tell it to sync now...
  • There's a button in Express.

In Android, you just have to toggle the display of the Connect app off and on and it will start to sync within a couple of seconds. I understand though that that doesn't work in iOS.

I recently saved this from another recent thread about the vivofit 2 but I would think the vivoactive would work with a similar principle.

The vivofit 2 will autosync to your compatible smartphone once you reach 2000 steps within 60 minutes1 or after an activity is recorded.
In addition the following requirements must be met as well.

    * The device must be in its normal page loop, not on the sleep page.
    * The device will not sync when using HRM or in an activity.
    * The device will only sync to connections that have successfully paired in the past.

The vivofit 2 will time out after 8 seconds when trying to autosync, or 30 seconds for the manual sync. By default the device will attempt only 8 auto-syncs per day, regardless of success or failure.

This count resets after every successful sync, manual or auto.

I have an iPhone and occasionally run into this. Usually it syncs whenever I open the GC ios app. When it doesn't, I can usually get it to sync by playing with it as you do. However, sometimes nothing works. If I try again later it magically works. I also wish there was a button to sync now. Have you updated your app to 3.2 (or now 3.2.1)? Seems to be better since then.

I think I found the answer!

I am using the iPhone 6 and it seems like when I place my finger at the bottom of the screen and drag up, it triggers a sync. It is still a bit random, and will sometimes activate the quick access menu or open up the calendar view, but it seems to trigger it more often than not. It almost feels like they screwed up the code and instead of pulling down to sync, you have to pull up.
