Why is it not recognising all cycling miles in reports?

Hi
Some of my uploaded data in garmin connect is for cycling, so I edit the activity type to cycling. Why are most of these miles added to my running reports and only once has it shown up as cycling? All have been changed to the same cycling activity.
  • This has been happening to a lot of people for 2 months now. Garmin has acknowledged the problem and has committed to fixing it.

The way to get around it is to immediately change the activity type to cycling from running. By immediately, I mean that waiting one minute is too long.

If you're too late or it doesn't work, make the change, export the activity, delete the old activity, and re-import. It will be correct after that.

There may be as much as a 10 minute time lag before you see the results of what you did.

    Thank you, I'll try that.

    Phil,

I take it the recent update to GC and the maintenance break didn't remedy this?
  • No idea actually. Necessity is the mother of invention so I modified what I do a bit and don't worry about wrong activity types anymore.

If no-one reports in that those issues have been solved by tomorrow, I'll force an activity change to see if it works or not.

    Thanks that worked well.

I did a test. It still doesn't work.
