Garmin Connect Activity/Calories

Hello!

I am a new Garmin user as of late December 2015. Getting used to everything, but as a long time Fitbit user, it is taking me some time.

I do run, but I also spend a decent chunk of time weight lifting. With Fitbit, I simply added the activities manually and it was tracked. I have also been tracking the sessions on Garmin Connect. When I do so, I select Strength Training and Fitness as my categories. It estimates a calorie burn for me as well, so it seems to work.

However, even though the calories burned updates on Garmin Connect, my Forerunner 230 never seems to sync those calories over to the burn on the actual watch. Is this expected behavior? Or am I missing a setting somewhere?

Thank you very much!

I owned a vivosmart and now a vivoactive, so I'm not sure if its the same reason, but my devices only tracked calories burned when it is recorded by the device - when you start an activity. I learned the hard way that when you upload an activity manually on GC it will not sync those calories burned to your device.

Thanks Melly. I was hoping that wasn't the case but had a hunch. Have a blessed weekend!
