Not sure if this is the right place, but I didn't see any better option.
I'd like to suggest different gear handling:
1. Assign bike (And shoes) defaults based on sub category and not main category. i.e. I want differnt bike default depending if I ride mounatin or road. Today I am forced to use same default regardless of the type of ride. This is also true for my running shoes. If I run street or trail, I use different shoes hence would prefer different defaults.
2. Allow associating gear with other gear: i.e. if I count miles on my tires, it could be useful if I associate the tire with my bike (frame). so, every ride I do with my road, is counted for my road tire, and every ride on my mountain bike will be associated with my mountain tires.
3, Allow edit for GEAR first use. This is read only field (once filled in). if you make a mistake when entering it... well, you can't update, and you cant use the gear on earlier activities...
