I own both a Fenix3 and Edge 520, each of which contains the ability to "auto-detect" Cycling VO2. Of course, I usually use the Edge 520 for cycling...however, for something different I performed a cycling activity recorded on the Fenix3.
In my experiences with the Edge 520 (latest firmware) and the Fenix 3 (also latest firmware), the VO2 Max is usually auto-updated following a cycling and running activity respectively. But after performing the cycling activity recorded with the Fenix3, now I have a differing number for my VO2 Max on each device. I'd imagine this is due to the Fenix3 reading data from that specific cycling activity that was recorded, and the Edge 520 has its own calculations based off the activities it has recorded. I hope I'm making sense here!
But my question...would it not make sense for this to be synced to Garmin Connect and then pushed to all devices via Bluetooth/WiFi or Garmin Connect Mobile. Maybe this is supposed to happen and I'm doing something wrong? I'm not griping or complaining, but it would be nice if this number could be synced across multiple Garmin devices. Please and thank you for your feedback!
