Incorrect syncing of time issue.

Hello everyone,
I just purchased my Garmin Vivofit2 yesterday and already love it. However, I am having an issue with the app on my iPhone 5s in which the time displayed on the app for activities does not sync correctly - for instance I ran last night at 8pm, recorded it on the Garmin Connect app and on myfitnesspal with an 8pm time stamp and the app states today that I had completed the run this morning at 4am. i checked my fitness pal and it's recorded correctly using the right time zone. Has anyone else experienced this issue, or would be able to help me adjust this difference in time.
