Connect not picking up Segments

I am very disappointed that Garmin is not putting more effort into restoring the Segment feature in Garmin Connect. It has now been two weeks since the error was recognised by Garmin and the Garmin Connect Status page still simply reads:

"DOWN Segments
We are currently experiencing issue (sic) in processing your segment matches. We are actively investigating."

It is really annoying as it was the main reason I bought an expensive Edge device. It is now much harder to compare my progress while I am training plus I do not want to be pushed into paying for an expensive Strava Premium upgrade just because Garmin can't be bothered to fix something that was supposed to be free.

Anyone else fed up?:mad:

    I agree. Garmin makes good products but they don't follow through with the software. How much longer will a "fix" take for this issue? Please note that Garmin still maintains that the user can create segments in the Garmin domain despite the fact that this feature has been down for several months. I really do miss Garmin segments and wish the company would be more forthcoming with information regarding this issue.

    If I use Strava segments (presumably connect & strava will need to 'talk') does that mean that activities will automatically be sent from connect to Strava (which I don't want because Strava doesn't mark them as private in this instance).

    You first have to get a Strava account. You can get a free account.


    I do have a Strava account and it is linked to GC so whatever I upload to GC shows up on Strava as well. But I still can't understand how can you see Strava segment in GC as you wrote previously: "it allowed me to see strava segments within Garmin Connect..."

    It's such a shame!!! 500 euros for a Garmin Edge 1000. The segments were the main reason of this purchase! I will never ever buy a garmin product again!!

    Segments

    I take it there is nothing we can do if Segments is down?
    I did a ride yesterday and it wont show up on my Strava account?
    I'm not a computer wizz and have wasted about 4hrs trying to sort it out and have now lost the will to live.....lol
  • Please, please, give us the segments back

    The weather becomes better and better, and segments still don't work, since last year. Please, repair them quickly or at least bring the previos version back, it was working quite well ;)

    This segments situation is maddening. And not a peer from Garmin. I wonder why.

    All it needs is

    Is it possible to have a progress update on the status page with regard to how you are progressing with restoring segment functionality. The lack of its availability is a hot topic on the forums currently with 14,449 views. https://forums.garmin.com/showthread.php?340149

    We will all then get an email telling us they will respond in 3 days.

    I can't see it making any difference but at least they will know how popular it is with users. As has been previously stated they probably don't even look at the forums.

    They do look at their support mail box.
