Import a route and send it to my 310XT?

I've got a route (as a kml, a tcx route or gpx file) that I need to send to my Garmin 310XT. The ways I knew that used to work (gpsies, bikeroutetoaster etc) don't work anymore. Is there any way that I can get this file into my 310XT so that I can use it as a guide when running (using the bread crumb trail screen)?

And why oh why is there no import option for routes in Garmin Connect?

You could try importing your route as an activity (using link in Activities window). Then while viewing it in the Activities window, convert it to a course by using "Save as course" from the drop down menu below the gear wheel.

I think this may work for tcx and gpx files.

Thank you, it worked for the gpx file but not for the tcx or fit.

I wonder why Garmin hasn't added an import button in the course creator. Too easy? Too useful? Whatever the reason, I hope that they will put it high up on their backlog.
