Fitness Equipment activities not appearing in reports

From what I can tell, since January 1'st, activity type "Fitness Equipment"(I use it for strength training) is not showing up in the Reports section of Garmin Connect.
For example, "Fitness Equipment" activities in December show up in Reports section. This week I have completed 2 Strength Training activities and none of them show up in Reports. Everything else shows up: running, cycling...

Any ideas!? Thanks!
  • There's not only a problem with the reports, but with how the fitness equipment activities sync with GC in general.

    I think the Garmin Connect Reports page is completely broken.

    My Fenix 3 recorded 4 Strength Trainings (actually it recorded it as uncategorized and I set it to strength training).

    If I go to reports and vie the last 7 days (3 activities should be there) it shows none
    4 weeks also none
    Set to 6 month it shows me ONE Fitness Equipment activity in in January.

    Now I set all four activities in January to trail running, which I didn't do this month and
    i see the exact same graphs.

    7 days -> nothing
    4 weeks -> nothing
    6 months -> ONE Fitness Equipment activity even there is none anymore.

    I do mainly CrossFit and have to record it as Fitness equipment / strength training. :(
    Somehow I can live with it but not showing in graph hurts bad. Before adding stuff like
    Golf you should get the basics working.

    I think I found the problem. It starts with the synchronizations. A recorded strength training on fenix3 is synchronized to connect as uncategorized.

    Normally all data is stored in a databases and databases have tables. Lets assume we have to tables. Table A for activities and table R for reports.
    Why I assume two tables and not one which would be better I will tell you at the bottom.

    Now when my fenix 3 sends the data to connect a new records is created in both tables (A and R). Something like:
    Add new activity uncategorized to table A and R.

    We see the activity in the activity view but not in the reports view because a uncategorized activity is not shown.
    Now when we change the new activity from uncategorized to strength training ONLY table A is updated.

    Like: Update uncategorized record in table A to strength training.

    So we see the activity as strength training in the activity view but the reports view is still empty. And will be for ever because Garmin forgot to
    update the other table.

    Proof of my concept is, when you manually create a record in the activity view and set it immediately to strength training and save it. Following happens:

    Add new activity strength training to table A and R.

    And suddenly I have a fitness equipment training in the report view!

    So therefore there must be two sources of data, and that's why I assume two tables.

    I guess I will open a ticket when I find the time :-)

    Thank you so much! That really helps me to understand what is going on! Thanks for sending me this way on this as well! :)

    +1 on this. I came here to post about it and saw your issue. I am not seeing any of my "Strength Training" workouts in Active Calories report.

    I have the same issue with strength and elliptical sessions not showing up so thanks for reporting. Hoping this is fixed otherwise I'm in the market for a new fitness tracker for winter indoor activity tracking.

    What device are you guys using? Does it have a native app for these activities or do you edit after the fact? I have a vivoactive which has native apps and the reports are accurate. If you are editing, this is a known problem Garmin acknowledges and promises to fix. #notholdingmybreath

    Same problem

    I use Garmin Forerunner 210 and I have the same problem. Whenever I run or cycle in the gym and manually input lenght and so on, it does not count. Hope they fix it soon.

    Weirldy enough, for some reason, 2 activities are shown and 2 are not...
