Etrex 30 upload

Hi,

How does one sync an etrex 30 with the new garmin connect website. I have the latest connect software but all that it tells me is that the device is up to date and theres "nothing to sync" but I just did a ride and recorded the track with HR.

That old site worked fine!

Your Etrex 30 won't automatically sync with Connect, you need to manually import your data using the import button in the Activities page. However I tend to use Basecamp with handhelds, as Connect is designed more to work with fitness devices.

I am having similar issues with an upload from my eTrex30 to GC.
I regularly upload cycling activities from an Edge 800 and an 810, no problems.
I use the eTrex for bike touring.
I know how to manually upload from the eTrex to GC and "label" the activity as "cycling". GC displays speed, distance, heartrate, course etc. but it won't update the daily, weekly or monthly total distances.
What's going on. Is this just another example of dodgy Garmin software? GC used to accept eTrex activities and update all the running totals and the calendar, but not any more.
Why? Is there a fix?

Used to work...

This *used* to work in the browser plugin. It would detect activities and upload them with heart rate into. As far as im concerned the etrex 30 is a fitness device, it records heart rate and 3d position with gps, which is a lot more than most fitness devices do.

Only thing I can think of is that browsers are withdrawing support for all NPAPI plug ins, so GCP no longer works in certain browsers. Which one do you use? Have you tried another?
