Garmin Connect not recognising segments

Anyone else experiencing this, or know of a fix.
I have been using segments for some time now and really like them. I have timed climbs etc and like the way that my Garmin 810 will notify me at the start and end of a segment, as well as telling me when my PB ticks over.
For the past week or so, I have been getting a 'you did not cross any segments' message in my Dashboard. While I am out on a ride I am still getting the 'Go' prompt and also the 'Virtual partner has finished' message, so it is recognising the segment, but doesn't seem to believe that I have crossed it.
Older workouts on the same courses till show the segment as valid.
I also cannot add any new segments off the same course as it seems the leaderboard is still being created. Seems like this won't happen if the segment is not propagating.

Any thoughts or advice from Garmin Tech?

Garmin has turned off segments detection. From https://connect.garmin.com/en-US/status:

    Segments - Down
Matching of new activities is currently turned off.

Some more information about this from Garmin would be nice. Is it expected to be turned on again? If so, when can I expect it to be working again?

Over the past few months my garmin edge 510 has slowly become more of a paper weight than a $300 plus piece of cycling equipment. At first the heart rate function failed and now doesn't work despite changing battery and the whole depolarisation thing. Now the cadence no longer works, and today the uploading onto my computer won't work either. It's tethered via a usb cord but that doesn't help. I had to do it this way as the bluetooth function to my smart phone no longer connects either. Is there an alternative to Garmin that actually works and is more reliable?
  • Any time I have had Bluetooth syncing issues I have corrected it by turning both devices off... and then turning them back on (order didn't seem to matter...but i think usually phone first)

Then I have/use MapMyRun for segement recording being that lots of people due the Garmin-MMR linking.... as well as tons of people that ONLY use the MapMyRun App on their phones. So local segments on well travelled paths get TONS of entries per week/month. Plus you can change the list from Male/Female/All ....to ME.... which will show all of just YOUR attempts at the segment. WHich is nice for showing progress on time trials, or maintaing certain speeds on Tempos etc.
  • I've been having the not recognising segment problem recently
  • Some problems with segments here as well. I cycled the same route on 27/03 and today and no segments recognized. Normally this route contains 3 segments
