Inaccurate Reporting - Imported GPX

I've had some issues with imported GPX files (From jog tracker.com) showing up in activities, working in my "goals" (I set one up for "run X miles in December") but in the reports these runs dont' work. I've tried deleting them, re-importing, changing the "type" to run, street run, etc.

This is definitely not life or death, but a small annoyance that I'd like to see fixed. Especially since I know I'm getting a VivoActive for xmas - I hope that works better than my phone's GPX data from a free app.

Thoughts? Tips Tricks? I've searched the forums for the "Many threads" but every one I find says "There's lots of threads about this" So even a link to some workarounds would be great.

Thanks! First post!

    Me too

All imported data via GPX files does not show in any reports nor is it counted in activities e.g. average pace etc. recently started using this app for a new garmin device but like to see this historical data used in calculations.

    thanks
  • Nit surprisingly, Garmin's focus is on Garmin supplied data from it's devices. Sometimes it struggles to do that, but most of the time it works pretty well. You can't blame Garmin for not being concerned with imported data from 3rd party sources.

If you want to combine data from different brands of device then the chances are that you may need to pay for a 3rd party product in order to assimilate all the data from the disparate sources. Sporttracks is definitely one of the better ones on the Windows platform.

That's not quite true it can use 3rd party data, I don't wish to use a Garmin running device as I like to run with music and therefore cannot see the point in using two devices when running. Therefore I have started using iSmoothRun application and this syncs nicely in to Garmin and is used on reports.

If it is Garmin's policy not to use manually imported data in their reports then that seems rather short sighted if they are trying to encourage users to use their eco system and therefore potentially persuade users to buy their devices.

    Fenix 2 sync to connect.garmin

I have an occasional problem when logging into connect. I sync my Fenix2 watch and I have the data forwarded to Strava and mapmyride. After syne is complte I launch in connect.garmin and the new worksout sometimes is not they but it does show up on Strava and mappmyride. Any have any thoughts?
