Anyone else noticed the daily and weekly step counts don't match the monthly ones?

Hi,
Anyone else noticed the daily and weekly step counts don't match the monthly ones?
If we count up the daily step counts (either for our VivoFit and VivoActive) they match the weekly totals. But if you add up all the daily ones for the month I'm missing almost 51,000 steps on Garmin Connect.
So December shows only 91431 on Connect but my daily count totals 142,362 on connect. I know the reports can lag a bit, but I usually only sync my Vivofit once a week and the totals on Garmin connect still don't tally even after a few days. It is the same thing with my partners VivoActive.

Thanks

I haven't noticed that, but I haven't done the math either. However this might be another manifestation of a bug in Connect introduced a few days ago, if you and your partner use the same Connect account and/or swap devices.

When the activity tracker for a Connect account is changed, Connect used to ignore the new tracker until its step total surpassed the total already synced by the previous tracker. However, Connect has been changed so instead of ignoring the new tracker, it now ignores steps from the previous tracker. For the day of the tracker swap, Connect only ignores the old tracker's steps when computing the day's total. It still shows them in the bar graph of steps vs time, so it still knows about them. It might be that it treats them differently in weekly or monthly totals.

    Hi,
No we use separate accounts and don't swap devices. We even sync using different methods, me via PC and my partner via the App.

    Thanks.

i have noticed that on the profile page the "last 12 months" figures don't match the "lifetime" figures even tho I've only had the Vivofit for the past 2 months. So even tho the year and lifetime are exactly the same, the numbers are very different.

are you sure that some of the daily counts do not have an element of double counting so in fact they are not missing? I had some days where there were step processing issues and my activity steps were counted again in non-activity steps e.g. 10 Dec.

EDIT: I just did a quick count of mine. The daily ones add to the weekly total ones ok etc! I could not find a monthly report for steps.

I have noticed the same thing started about 5 days ago. If you go to the page where you can access steps in last 7 days, last 4 weeks and last 12 months and go to last 12 months the total for December hasn't changed for about 5 days. If you touch December and go to the detail by day the count is correct. Garmin must have made an "improvement" but not everywhere.

Hurrah, it seems to have caught up now and the monthly total now matches the daily totals. :)
