Training Zones now gone from Garmin Connect!?

So yesterday when I opened Garmin Connect I did the suggested update and now when I wander to the training zones section I can no longer see any information or make any edits there. Under "settings" I select "training zones" as before only once there there is simply a sentence that says "Heart rate and power training zones can be managed within device settings," with "device settings" as a link and nothing else. I select the device settings link offered and it takes me to a page that just checks as to whether or not the fenix 2 software on the watch is up to date with no other options here but to download manuals.

I just did a heart rate time trial test this morning so I could gain accurate HR numbers and now I cannot find any way to input them! Any help please!!??

Sorry I can't offer a solution to your problem but I can tell you that the "device settings" link works for me. HR zones for running, cycling and default are available as is a "power" setting table.

You may need to click the "Settings" tab next to the "Software" tab and then select "User Settings" rather than "Device Settings" once you get to "device settings "page

My device is a 310XT and I am running Connect in Safari 9.0.2 on an iMac using OSX 10.11.2
  • I noticed that too yesterday. However under device settings (FR235) I can only adjust zones for running and not for cycling and general anymore. Furthermore, Zones are now only editable based on %HRmax, no longer can I use %HRR....

Here's what I see in Garmin Connect with the fenix 2 attached: (I am trying to insert inline but you may need to click the "training zones" attachment)

Since the is really nothing there I follow the "device settings" link that is offered which only leads me to here: (again, may need to click the "device settings" attachment)

Which is a dead end for any device settings much less the training zones. I wondered if it was a browser or OS fluke so I have navigated here from a Mac (OS X 10.9.5) from Safari and Firefox, and from a PC running Windows 7 and the result was always as I have depicted above.

So there is the extent of my heart rate zones experience with my fenix 2. The strange thing is 2 weeks ago when I first set this up (before I had ever used the watch) there were training zones there but I initially bypassed them as I had no valid information to input yet.

    Hi
I have exactly the same problem. I have an Oregon 600 and cannot change the heart rate zones. :(

Have you been able to change HR zones before recently? Or have you never had the option?

I still can't figure out why whenever I go to "device settings" in Garmin Connect (fenix 2 connected) it never takes me to any device settings, it just informs me that the software is up to date. Why don't they just change the "device settings" link to more accurately say "software updater?"

It seems that they have gone back to the original training zones using % Max Heart Rate after a brief period using % Heart Rate Reserve. This is presumably why Resting Heart Rate is no longer included as it is not required for %MHR but it was for %HRR.

That sounds like just a minor discrepancy for how things are calculated. I don't have access to ANY HR info, there is just a blank screen when I click on Training Zones, see my post (3 or 4 up from here) that has a picture of my "options." I would be ecstatic if my major issue was only how HR stuff was calculated! :p

Sideofpotatoes - I did offer some possibly helpful suggestions regarding your problem (see 1st reply to your original post)

The comments on resting heart rate etc that you are so dismissive about were aimed at Dietmar2k who asked specifically about the disappearance of the RHR metric.

Oh, I wasn't trying to be dismissive, I just got lost in tracking the conversation as sometimes quotes were used and other times not. And I was appreciative of your suggestion, I was just stifled again when I found that neither did I have a "settings" tab next to my "software" in that location, see the device settings link below in the quoted text, but you probably already have seen this.
