Incorrect Activities Displaying Update: Working as intended, won't be fixed.

[QUOTE=Garmin Customer Support]The forerunner 210 is designed for running, not for strength training.

The Forerunner 210 only has Running on it with an option to change from Pace to Speed. The activity will upload as Running and if you are wanting the activity to be displayed as Pace, then you will need to make this change in Garmin Connect.

This is not a fault of Garmin Connect, it is working as intended.
.....
  • Which begs the questions:
    1. "Which Garmin device do I need to buy to record inline skating?" and
    2. "Do I really need 37 Garmin devices to capture all my sporting activities?"
  • What Customer Support said is that the watch is doing what it is supposed to do and you should change it in Connect. The only problem is changing it in Connect doesn't work very well since the maintenance shutdown for a day in November. I assume you've seen the workarounds.
  • Correct pshare, I have seen the workarounds mentioned. I described the situation and even linked one of the threads in my report. The response is that this new behaviour is "working as intended" :(
  • I personally believe it will be fixed if there is enough of an outcry. Garmin has reversed "intended behaviour" decisions before.
  • I sure hope so, because otherwise I think they're trying to sell a new device for horseback riding by removing the ability to record it with any other device... I wonder if it comes with cadence sensors >.<
