garmin express dashboard doesn't show activites correctly

garmin express is not showing some of my activities correctly on the dashboard. for example, I have a swimming activity which initially appears as a run when I upload (this is normal). I modify in garmin connect to a lap swim, then manually enter calorie burn. the calorie dashboard report does not register the activity and the activity time dashboard report continues to show the swim as a run.
  • That is a common problem discussed in multiple threads.

In summary, there are 2 things you can do:

    • Edit the activity immediately after it is synced. Immediately means within seconds. If you wait a minute or 2, it will probably be too late.
    • Modify the activity, export it, delete it in Connect, and re-import the modified activity.
  • Not solved

This worked fine until about 1 or 2 weeks ago. I'd see different colors with no problem. It worked with my Forerunner 220 and my new Forerunner 25. But now only "Running" appears on my reports, charts, & graphs although I do mostly walking & other. I DO edit my activities asap, but it's no longer functioning as it did.

I am having the same problem. All my activities I change to walking are still showing as running on the reports and graphs. It is a recent problem in the last two weeks.
  • I reported the bug to garmin 4 weeks ago after the maintenance shutdown. If changing activities immediately doesn't work for you, I suggest you export the changed activity, dlete the original and re-import the activity. It's a bit of a PITA but it always works - for me anyway.

Or get a Vivoactive and record the activities in the proper category on the device.

If your car dealer performed maintenance on your car that removed or broke functionality, would your next step be to buy a new car from them? Would you ever buy a car from them again for any reason? :P
  • DMJ,

I switched from a vivosmart to a vivoactive and couldn't be happier for more reasons than just this.

However scottmeup is right. It makes no sense to go around buying more watches to get around a bug that Garmin should be addressing.

    Agreed on both counts.
