manual activity is missing in 'total distance' report

Hi,

This issue seems like a bug but maybe I'm doing something wrong so I'd appreciate any help.

I was running on a treadmill for 30 minute with my 910 recording my HR. After uploading to GarminConnect I manually edited the distance of this activity to 5km.
Strangely I don't see this activity in the 'total distance' report of last 7 days, though I do see it in the 'total time' reports. Similarly it is missing in the calendar view on the weekly totals.

It seems like a distance that was not originally recorded by the device, but rather was manually edited at GarminConnect, is not captured right while querying total distance from database.

I'm attaching three pictures:
1. activity details - shows both time and distance
2. total time report - shows the activity (time is correct)
3. total distance report - activity is missing

    Same issue

Yep. I'm getting the same issue. Manual activity with no distance showing in the reports. All other stats from the workout are there just no distance. db query issue I think? One for the Garmin dev. team to sort out?

Not the same issue but something similar

Not having the same issue as the original post but one that also deals with information showing inaccurately after being changed manually. On my FR 15 I used to be able to upload my bike rides along with my runs then just change the activity type to cycling and the activity would change to red 'cycling' in my reports. For some reason the past couple of weeks even when I change the activity in the activities page it still shows up as a run in my reports. Its not a major issue but it makes it somewhat difficult to track my weekly/monthly miles without having to go back and manually add them up. Not sure if anyone else has experienced the same issue or if there is a known fix but any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
  • My issue is related. the activities uploaded this weekend in gpx format don't appear in the total distance report either. I will try later with a new activity with my fr10.
  • total distance not in reports

same here for total distance not including activities where distance was entered manually...

Same issue for me -- its rather annoying. Any activity that is manually entered (or edited) will not be reflected in the Distance Reports. This bug makes the Report functionality utterly pointless for me since I do alot of treadmill running in the winter. It's a shame because that would be one of the nicer features -- being able to see bar graphs your total distance every month for the last 12 months.

Hey, issue has been around since November 15 and obviously Garmin 1) have no idea how to fix it 2) really have no idea how to fix it or 3) want us all to buy different brand watch next time we upgrade! This whole issue is nothing but a joke!!:mad::mad:

It really is absurd that this hasn't been fixed. Coming from a computer programming background, it's obvious to me that it's a simple database query that needs to be changed. They clearly have two fields -- 1 field for "tracked distance" and 1 field for "entered distance". All their other widgets query the "entered distance" (if available), but for some bizarre reason, they can't seem to figure out that the Total Distance report is only querying the "tracked distance" and ignoring "entered distance". In all likelihood, this is a fix that would literally take less than 15 minutes, but I guess they got our money already so they probably don't care.
  • not fun workarounds...

I have found the same issue with editing activities (updating data, editing workout type, etc)....

I have stopped using a garmin unit to capture HR on the treadmill.... I just use the HRM strap with my Samsung S5 (S Health App). Then I manually create a treadmill workout, select "Add More Data" at the bottom, then enter my Avg HR and Max HR from my phone app, as well as the distance, time and elevation gain from the photo I took of the treadmill screen at the Ymca.

I do the same when I do the exercise bike.

one of my reasons for not getting the Forerunner 235... it will likely just make me pissed that it hoses up reports/data for indoor workouts....

They must have some of their best interns working on their website/app... actually probably not their best....lol

Happy to say that the issue I reported in the first message of this thread was fixed.
Manual activities are now shown in the total distance report. Me happy, tnx Garmin!
