Reports in Garmin Connect incorrect

Former Member
Former Member
Hi Folks,
In november there are 11 activities in my schedule. Three running, 4 hiking and 4 cycling events. In reports there are only 4 cycling and 1 running event displayed. So there are missing a few items. Does anyone know about this issue? Please let me know.
Thanks

I also recently emailed Garmin and got almost exactly the same response shown above. "No time frame for the fix..." Please keep emailing them, folx, so we can get this fixed.

    thanks

Hiking Activity Missing in Distance Report

Hiking activity from January is missing in the Distance bar graph for January, but previous month hiking activities do show. Unfortunately, so many persistent glitches in the software.
  • Check if the hiking activity is shown as running. If so, export it; delete it; and re-import it.
    It should fix it.

This never bothered me before, but after reading all these posts I'm now curious. I never had any use for the reports function, and I figure that if it wasn't taking into account the manual miles I could just put everything in an Excel spreadsheet.

What I do is every after indoor workout (cycle or run), I save the activity, upload it, and then when I get home or to the office (whenever I get to a computer, basically), I will go and manually add miles and other information. Obviously, the reports widget doesn't record the manual miles, but its okay. So, I tried editing it immediately after uploading the activity this morning - didn't work. I also tried to export the info, delete the original and waited until it disappeared from reports, and then upload it again, but that didn't work. All I got was the original file - without the miles I manually put in. I put in the miles, and voila, it now shows on reports. That didn't take a lot of work, but more than its supposed to.

I was wondering if it would work if we manually edit the .fit file to put in the distance, and then upload that onto GC. Would that work? I converted the fit file to a .csv file, but I haven't had the time to really look at it yet.

Thanks for posting a solution! A few others have been posted in this thread similar to yours. I am kind of being a stick-in-the-mud on this. I imagine all of us having to deal with this every day simply because a function the *used to work* has been removed (or damaged somehow). I do not want to do extra work every day because Garmin won't fix a problem that clearly has a fix, and I hate the thought of going back and fixing more than 100 workouts....
  • I am having the same issue with January showing no distance at all and February showing only a fraction of what I have done so far... At least one of my indoor cycling activity did get counted in February even though the distance is edited after the transfer, like all the others. Garmin Connect is not even consistent in treating the data :-(

Glad I'm not the only person having issues with Reports. For me everything shows up in the 7 day reports but as soon as I change it to 4 weeks, 6 months, or 1 year it stops working. The thing that gets me is that on my dashboard I can toggle the graphs and see them as they should look when I select different time frames.

Ah, I was wondering about this! I use my Forerunner 620 to track my swims, and it always makes running the default sport. I change it pretty soon after the sync, but I guess not quickly enough, because each of those activities shows as a run in reports. It would be great to get an update for a fix!
  • Come on garmin , fix this!!!!

Yes, been broken since Nov 2015 for me, make the technology pretty useless if you can't analyse the data it produces! :-(
