Can't set times on manual activity?

With the latest iOS app release (which I hate...)
I can't add a manual activity from the iOS app, when I go in it will NOT let me set the starting time it insists on making it 3PM at 03, no other numbers can be selected on the wheel, you can try, but it spins back to 3PM.
As much as I didn't want to create saved custom activities it's looking like I will have to just to get around this new bug.

Any ideas ?

What can I say.. it's been one of those kinda days all around...
Though in typical Garmin style they didn't make the mobile apps sub-forums of the larger connect app page..
