I used my gamin nuvi 1300 to guide me to a trail head parking lot and everything was working normally. I turn it off and stick in my glove box and go on the hike. I get back to my truck, turn the garmin on and it freezes on the startup screen. I try pressing the on/off and holding it and nothing worked. Soon something happened and it took me to a calibration screen with a black dot and a cross hairs that move around the screen and you need to touch it, well I did that for like 15 minutes (just pressing the little dots over and over and over.... not kidding, it was a long time) and finally it booted up, great! or so I thought... I try to look up directions home and its says maps are not available. I then see that all my favorites/saved items/history/ and all maps are deleted....???
What happened? How can i fix this?
Please help.
