Please add orienteering as a sport

I don't know if I'm posting this the wrong place, if so could someone direct me to the correct subforum?
It affects functions I have on my Fenix 3 (VO2MAX), but the addition of the sport would be on a more general scale, so thought this would be the appropriate place.

It's kind of annoying that orienteering isn't included as a sport. As a result i use Trail Running, but it seems that as a result the VO2MAX is skewed. Running orienteering is in general much harder that trail running since you run off the trail directly in the woods. Scrambling over marshes, through thick underbrush and up and down cliffs doesn't really compare to normal trail running. Even running on really technical trail runs are in general easier than orienteering. Just imagine going to the woods and then try run in an approximate straight line and see if that's harder.

In general the orienteering community seems to be Garmin fans as well, so I think I'm not the only one wishing we had this option.

    Please add

    orienteering

Only thing missing to make me super happy for my new Fenix 6

I do not think that the name of the discipline you choose has any impact on the VO₂Max. The watch calculates the VO₂ on the basis of your HR data, and (if available) the oximetry data. It means the bigger effort you do, the bigger change of HR (resp. the oximetry too) will be detected, regardless what the activity is named.

If for some reason, you do not want to use the built-in Trial Run for orienteering, you always have the possibility to create your own custom activity and name it Orienteering.

  • It's still sad that Fenix watches don't have "Orienteering" as one of defaults sports! Even my cheapo Polar M400 had such feature
