Hi

When connecting to https://connect.garmin.com/modern/ using firefox, I get the following response (inside the blue border):

Will this explain the sync issues I'm having (via mobile app and express)

  • I checked the gc status page and get what yoy are saying. I was saying prior to doing what i said i had connection errors, no data from today and no data in my screens. When i did what i said it refreshed everything. Maybe a fluke but your mileage will vary.
  • I still can't logon at my personal GC page, but my morning ride was uploaded to Strava .

This is the nature of cloud services guys. Microservices will be down when upgrades are being done. Looks like a lots were down at the same time so I am assuming Garmin is doing some significant infrastructure upgrades (that they notified you about with the banner).

Cool thing is that I don't see any content loss (steps, sleep, etc) which is actually pretty cool from a data integrity standpoint. People are bitching and moaning about Garmin and the new layout of Connect but I actually think it has great potential to consolidate a massive amount of personal health and activity information.

I think most of us that want a very sports specific slant will still use a tool like trainingpeaks for the foreseeable future but the integrations have been really awesome for me. I used to have to upload into three different places with cables and whatnot but now I just sync my 810 via bluetooth to Connect and the ride will automagically get uploaded to Strava and TP.

Keep up the good work Garmin. This guy thinks you are doing some pretty great things. Just continue to listen to the community for feature iteration and give us feedback.

I can log on using microsoft edge but not using chrome.
  • Thank you! As someone new to Garmin, this is really helpful!

The garmin servers were down. No need to restart or re-pair anything.

Not long ago, things were syncing again, and the server status shows that's it's processing the backlog.

    https://connect.garmin.com/en-US/status

is the place to look when stuff like this happens. There's a link to "status" on the bottom of the Garmin Connect dashboard website page.

Thanks for the info. This is very helpful and a quick way to get answers.

Actually, the Garmin connect webpage had an announcement about this scheduled maintenance all week, and I was a bit surprised to find out that the new GCM 3 (Andriod/iOS) didn't have some way to let people know, as many people only check things on their phone.

You're wrong.. I've been trying to connect all day with the app. It's been syncing my vshr but hasn't shown me any data all day. Did what these other people did just now to try it by deleting the app and reinstalling and everything works fine now
  • Yup. that is what worked for me. My dad has a VA also and his did not have any issues without reinstalling. I think it depends on the person but he did not sync until after everything was back up and running so that probably helped him.

No, I'm not wrong. The problem was NOT on your end. Reinstalling just burned up some time until the servers were back...

You should check the status page (linked on the bottom of the website) when something weird happens.
