Vivosmart Android (Marshmallow) lost volume controls with update this morning

I have had volume controls for the entire time I have had my vivosmart (since February), and it has been really nice. It worked this morning until I charged my device (which updated it to 3.6) and now I no longer have the option for volume. Anybody else get this? Is this some sort of new Feature to remove features? Any ideas how to get it back.
I deleted the sync to my phone, and re-added it (which wiped everything on the vivo), and then it was back working, just in case anybody else gets this.
