Missed synced activity & cannot manually upload

I have a Garmin Forerunner 405 and recently it "successfully completed" a sync, but the activity was not actually uploaded to Garmin Connect. The activity does still exist when I scroll through history on my 405. When I open the "history" file folder on my computer, it shows that my Garmin has not actually saved any activities to that folder since 2014, I think around the time I started using Garmin Express. I use an Ant+ stick to connect my watch to Garmin Express, but I can't locate the Ant+ USB through my file folders even though it will connect and transfer data from my watch. So I'm having trouble finding a way to manually upload missed activities also. Any ideas on how to force my Garmin to save all activities to the History folder on my computer again? Or how to locate the Ant+ usb connected to my computer even though it doesn't pop up in my file folders and connected devices?
  • I have a 305 which, I believe, is pretty much like the 405 except for the interface.

A couple of things come to mind.

Firstly, is it possible that you created a different account in Express and your activities are going there?

Secondly, the 305 connects with a clip that is a bit flimsy. If I don't connect it cleanly, it might say "Transfer Complete" but the activity doesn't appear in Connect. I just sync it again (and sometimes a third or fourth time) and eventually it makes it to Connect.

I think that you are correct about the absence of history files but Express does store .fit files locally.

This is the file path for a Mac and it will be something equivalent on a pc

    /Users/usersname/Library/Application Support/Garmin/GarminConnect/-3818637412/Upload/FIT_TYPE_4/2015-11- ............fit

Note that the "Library" folder is normally hidden - holding down Alt and clicking the "Go" menu in the finder allows you to open it (This is Mac again)

I'm having this issue too, but, the activity IS showing up on strava (autosync via garmin connect) so the activity IS uploading to Garmins servers, its just not refreshing on the iOS app of the Web app
