Custom Stride

Along with the steps and active calories not recording on garmin connect.... and double counting my active calories and exercise calories..... I just noticed that my Vivosmart HR and Garmin Connect (iOS and website), can not set my custom stride. I've tried multiple times to set a custom stride via the iOS app and website and when it saves and transmits to the vivo, its way off. I ended feet and steps to equate to a 2.2" stride.... when saved... garmin connect changes my numbers to give me a 6+" stride when walking and running....... I WISH.... however, this will greatly over estimate my calorie and distance... so back to default (which is less accurate for me as I'm short). Garmin please fix these problems with your software.... I love my new Vivosmart HR but if these bugs continue I'll be going back to my FitBit Charge HR.

Did this problem get resolved? I have the same problem, but with opposite results. Garmin Connect thinks I've gone 1.1 mile in 6700 steps. That would have to be heel-to-toe. I also entered a custom stride and the calculation of 2.72 feet/stride is reasonable for me. Did you ever get resolution?
  • No fix. However, if I change the stride with the "device settings" on my iOS app and don't open the "user settings" (that are separate from the device settings)... the stride seems to stay correct on my device... its when I open them in "user settings" section that they seem to get messed up... I did two jogs of exactly the same distance..... and got 0.5 mile difference and I'm sure the second shorter distance was correct after adjusting the stride as above.... still a serious bug that the settings get modified by the app....
