Garmin Connect Steps not uploaded from Device

Hi Garmin friends,

I am here writing to you about a problem that's been happening since my Vivo Active software update I did yesterday.

Since this morning every time I launch Garmin Connect app on my Android device it does not update steps counter.

I see the correct made steps on my samrtwatch but not at all reflected to my Garmin Connect (it stays at 0).

What I did yestarday, in order to allow the installation of the most recent software update, I removed from Garmin folder, Activity and MOnitor subfolders the file I had there.

I hope this is not the cause.

Over website it works fine and I see the correct alignment with my Vivo Active.

I hope to have more insights from you inthe forum.

Best regards,

Giuseppe.
  • Same issue here plus, no active calories recording. Sounds like a Garmin issue not a device issue.
  • Same issue. Started happening today. The mobile app shows 0 steps but the Connect Dashboard on the web site is correct but only with the "Steps Today" widget. All of the step reports for today are empty. Active calories in the Calories In/Out also at 0. All of these issues I keep having with this watch and mobile app/web site is really frustrating.
  • Same issue. 0 steps showing in Mobile app. :(

    Very Frustrated with these Issues

I have an iPhone 6 and this has been happening to me as well. The Garmin Connect app is not syncing the steps but when I go online to Garmin Connect it reads the correct amount. Sort of. The steps sync but not when I look at the "steps over time". I tried to attach a screen grab to show what it is looking like. Hopefully it worked.

Also over the weekend steps numbers on the app have been 200-300 off from what my Garmin Vivosmart has been reading as well.

This definitely is an issue with the app that Garmin engineers need to work out and fast!

    Frustrating.

Same issues for me as well. I have an iPhone 6. Garmin Connect mobile app isn't syncing the steps.

Online it does sync the steps. Specially when I connected my Vivosmart to the computer.

I really like the Vivosmart, but I am so frustrated with the app. I like to use products that work.

Clearly an issue with the Garmin Connect App. How hard is it really to get these issues fixed? Like aren't there people working on the app and that it? You have one job.. do it right.

Same problem here.... vivosmart hr counting steps... says synced with iOS app, but no steps recorded on app or garmin connect online. No active calories.... my consumed calories are transferring over from MyFitnessPal however.
  • Same issue here with steps and MyFitnessPal plus no active calories in the Calories In/Out widget on the dashboard and no steps reported today in any of the dashboard reports. Garmin Status site shows no issues. I put in a support request and I guess will need to wait 3 days to get a response. :(

Also as of today on the MyFitnessPal site under Exercise, the Garmin Connect calories adjustment vanished.

List of things that stopped working for me today (VivoActive if that matters):

Android Connect App - No errors with the sync process but the following are not working:
    - 0 steps reported although watch shows many steps
    - No active calories reported for today
    - Calories remaining is incorrect because no active calories are being reported for today

    Connect Dashboard:
    - No steps for today reported in the "Reports" widget
    - No total calories shown for today in the "Reports" widget
    - 0 active calories shown for today in the Calories In/Out widget but Food calories are working

I also am not getting calorie adjustment on MFP. Garmin connect and my iOS app are getting my consumed calories from MFP. Sounds like Garmin connect problems. Hope they are fixing this along with the double counting calories burned from active and exercise calories.

Just called support... they have no fix but say they are working on it and to call back if not fixed in a couple days. The guy was very nice and said it was not the device but the garmin connect and communication to the ios app. Hope he's right. I'll give them a few days, but then I'm returning the device and back to my old fitbit.
