Steps counting continues when you travel in a car

My garmin vivosmart goes on an overdrive and starts counting increasing steps completed when you are traveling in a car.. Pl suggest a solution.

mine does not go into overdrive, but I do register about 500 steps an hour.

The ability to edit step count is something that needs to be implemented asap.

I sometimes drive a forklift/telehandler at work and its going crazy counting steps. Im talking thousands.

Its getting to the point when I actually go for a walk I have to leave the VA in the house as its already counted enough steps.

What use is that ??? A fitness tracker you need to leave at home .
