225 loosing power

With the latest software updates, my 225:s battery only lasts for a week. With the same usage before, the battery would last up to three weeks.

Is this something others are experiencing as well or is my device broken?

    2.5 problem

Mine's doing the same thing! I just got my 225 a couple weeks ago, so I called customer service, thinking it was a unit issue. Turns out it's an issue with the 2.5 software update - they've pulled the update, so if you notice, Garmin Express says "2.4" is up to date now, but unfortunately it won't let you downgrade the software, so we have to wait for 2.6! I guess the watch isn't fully going into low power mode when it's locked.

In the meantime, they said turning off bluetooth should help a bit! Guess it's just a waiting game until they fix with a new update!
  • Forerunner 225 non-responsive and won't connect to gps

After doing the update... I have to do a soft reset more than once per day just to use the watch. It keeps freezing (continues to tell the time) and all of the buttons are non-responsive. After I do a soft reset, the watch resets the time which means I have to connect the gps since the watch will not allow me to manually set the time. I've been waiting for 5 minutes for the watch to connect with gps and still nothing.

Very frustrated. Race coming up next week and I don't think this watch is reliable at all.

Awful battery issues with mine as well

Mine doesn't even make it to the end of the day. And that is without using it for any workouts. Light is gone by dark, watch dies sometime thereafter. I am on the second watch now. I've had issues with it from day one. Mainly heart rate recording. This one is better, probably updated system, but is abysmal now! I wish I hadn't bought it. My old (long dead) 405 was excellent, which is why I stuck with Garmin.

BTW... I hate their new modern style web site!

So I checked my watch software version last night and it says 2.5 now. I was quite excited thinking that this update may be the answers to my problems. My watch worked flawlessly all day yesterday, which is why I checked to see if it had updated somehow. Now, here I am again... my watch says it is 1:53pm but it is 3:41pm in Vancouver. Cannot change the time until it acquires a GPS signal. Won't do that until I do a soft reset - again. And even then, it usually takes a few soft resets for it to actually work. Battery is losing the charge very quickly too. I think I'll be returning this watch if I can.

My Garmin Express gave me 2.9 version i just updated on my computer and battery last for just 2 days and also failed to upload software updates on the watch. Now new problem is unable to acquire GPS signal so none of the menu works in the watch.

Well if your device is still working then do not upgrade any version. I have Garmin forerunner 225, and new version i have upgraded is 2.90 which has caused my device absolutely inoperative.

Pleaase avoid cross-posting to 5 different threads about the same issue. Use only one of them. I recommend posting the info you were asked for, in this thread: forums.garmin.com/.../garmin-forerunner-225-problem-with-software
