Vivosmart measured distance suddenly wildly wrong

I've had my Vivosmart for about a year with great success. Suddenly, perhaps after the recent software update, the distance estimate on the Vivosmart is wildly off. I've previously entered custom walk and run stride lengths, and they've worked great. For example, I walked/ran about 20,000 steps today (about 9 miles) but the Vivosmart only 'measured' 3.4 miles. I don't understand why the sudden change and the very wrong measurement of distance. Any help appreciated!

Pretty Much same thing

Since the update last week, my daily runs are now showing up as 4 or 5 etc workouts. Like the HR Monitor Strap in losing connection. I have changed batteries in both vivofit and HR soft strap but no change. As a result.... times, distances, calorie counts etc are all off.

I noticed today that the distance to calculate my stride length had been reset from 5280 feet to 1. That made my stride length .01 feet.
