Heart Rate Monitor compatible with Forerunner 15

I was wondering if my current heart rate monitor would work with my forerunner 15. The strap i have now is a suunto. specs are 3 TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

I have tried to connect it with my watch but it seems to get stuck on "finding location or gps" when i try to pair it. I am trying to pair it while at work and reception for almost everything is bad here. Will it work or do I just need to buy a new monitor? Any info would be appreciated. Thank you!

If it is an ANT+ device which it looks as if it is then it should pair OK

Why don't you turn GPS off if you can then pair it or failing that go outside briefly and let the watch acquire satellites and then try to pair
