Import Courses from Edge to Connect

I have a few courses on my Garmin Edge 810 that I would like to see and edit on Garmin Connect, how do I import them from the device to the software?
  • Click on the import button on the Activities tab. As you seem to be unaware of how Connect works you might find this useful

    https://connect.garmin.com/en-US/help/how-to/
  • I'm afraid SUSSAMB you are confused between Courses and Activites. I want to import Courses not Activites.

Courses are planned routes that you can navigate on your cycle/run, Activites are cycle/run events that you have already completed. In Garmin Connect they are listed as different items.
  • Sorry, I assumed you at least knew part of it and just couldn't manage the 'import' bit ...

To import a course you have to:

    1) Convert the .gpx course to a .gpx track
    2) Import the file as an activity
    3) Open the activity
    4) Create a course from the activity and name it
    5) Delete the imported activity
    6) Delete the imported activity from all auto-sync services you have set up too (Strava etc.)
  • OK thanks I thought this may have been the solution but was was hoping there may have been be a more direct/simpler method.
  • An old thread but exactly my problem ...

Is there (even now) no simple way to (re-)import **courses** (format: xxxx_course.fit) formatted by an Edge (or even originally in Connect and then loaded over to the Edge) directly into Connect?
