How can I hide my home location in Garmin Connect and still participate in segments?

Hi
I only openly share my bike routes on Garmin Connect so that I can participate in segments. However I would like my home location to be kept secret and would really rather other users can only see my segment data.
How can I achieve this?
In Strava there is a cool feature that will hide your journey within a set radius of a chosen location - does Garmin Connect have anything like this?
Thanks,
  • hide home

i'm looking into this too, i'm going to stop using segments until this is sorted.
  • This feature is not available in Garmin - if you don't want to share your home location then you would have to set the privacy for each activity to "Connection's only" but then you can not participate in the segment leader board..

Hopefully this will change in the future!
  • thanks Martin. I've changed my settings to hide from everyone but connections.

i might even stop using Connect at all and pay for strava premium.

    very dissapointed.

A simple work round is to start your Garmin 100m or so into your ride from home and stop it at about the same distance away from home on your return. It's a bit of a pain, but it does allow you to participate in segments more safely. If you forget to stop your device before you get home you can always mark the ride as private but it won't be included in segment data,
