Incorrect time zone in GC

I started this thread a while ago, but just realized it is in the wrong section.

I live in Cape Town which is in the Central African Time Zone, but whenever workouts are uploaded to GC, the time zone shown is West African Time, which is obviously incorrect. It might e related to the fact the Cape Town should theoretically be in the West African Time Zone, but it's not.

The time zone is correct on the GC mobile app and the watch.

It's interesting to note that the time zone onfo of workouts that do not have a GPS fix displays correctly in GC, so the issue seams to be that the GPS info from the watch is not being interpreted correctly by GC, as far as the time zone is concerned.

I'll attempt to contact support.

I do recall a timezone update this year for my Garmin GPS. Could you be missing an update?

That's what Garmin Support also eluded to... might be the issue. They have it in hand now, so I'll report back once it has been resolved. :)

Please post your feedback for this issue.
In Portugal this is also happening (since August). No matter what it uploads as Cape Verde Time (-2 hours). I also have a fenix 3 with all updates but it happened with my other watch (FR 610).

Some feedback on this issue...

Nothing from Garmin Support yet, but I've been doing a bit more testing... looks like the south-western tip of South Africa is not part of the Central African Time Zone, according to Garmin Connect. If I start a workout more or less 10km north of where I live, the time zone info is correct on GC. All workouts south of an imaginary line that cuts across the Cape Point peninsula are logged in the West African Time Zone.
