Incorrect time zone in GC

I started this thread a while ago, but just realized it is in the wrong section.

I live in Cape Town which is in the Central African Time Zone, but whenever workouts are uploaded to GC, the time zone shown is West African Time, which is obviously incorrect. It might e related to the fact the Cape Town should theoretically be in the West African Time Zone, but it's not.

The time zone is correct on the GC mobile app and the watch.
  • Is the time zone correct in Connect on your PC? (Head & Shoulders icon - Display settings)
  • Is the time zone correct in Connect on your PC? (Head & Shoulders icon - Display settings)

Yes... the time zone is set to Central African in PC Connect settings, but it still displays the workout in West African time.
  • I've gone back in my workout history and the change happened between 11 and 14 July. The workout on 11 July is correct, the one on the 14th is in the wrong time zone, so whatever changed around that time is responsible...
  • Which mobile app iOS or Android? Could there have been a mobile connect update around that time? Which watch? Is the watch set to get its time from the mobile app? If you use express do you get the same results?

Have you contacted support about this?
  • I've just realized that I switched from Android to iOS on 14 July... surely that can't be a coincidence? I have a fenix 3. I'll try upload via Express (or WiFi) after my next workout and see what happens.

I haven't contacted support yet... thanks for your help so far :)
  • OK, just did a test with uploading directly to GC via WiFI and the time zone is still wrong... it must be an issue with the web based GC. All times on the watch and the iOS GC are displayed correctly and my settings on the web based GC are correct:

  • Since you switched OS at that time, I am guessing that your watch's clock setting might be set to manual default settings after it was unpaired with your Android phone. It should be set to get its updates from Mobile.
  • It only has "Auto" or "Manual" as time options... "Auto", which mine is set to, gets the time from the GPS network. The watch time and the time of workouts on iOS GC is correct...
  • So why don't you contact support at this point? I can't speak for South Africa's support but they are mostly excellent in North America.
  • Mmm, I don't have much confidence in local support, but I haven't tried yet. Kinda hoped it would sort itself out over time.
