Watch doesn't display 2 min recovery heart rate when using "Workouts"

It appears that my Epix will not display recovery heart rate after an activity if I used a "Workout" (from the Garmin Connect Training menu).

However, recovery heart rate shows up just fine after a non-planned activity.

For clarification: when I say "recovery heart rate" that means, if I wait a couple minutes after stopping a workout, the drop in heart rate is displayed in a notification on my watch. Not to be confused with "Recovery Check" "Recovery Advisor" "Recovery Time" etc.

I'm also unable to find anything in the owner's manual.

Is there a way to view this information even when using the Garmin Connect training/workout options?
  • You could try adding a warmdown interval at the end of your workout ended by lap button press - if you do this and press as soon as your workout is finished but don't save the activity at that point then I think you will get the recovery. This is what essentially happens on my 610.

Thanks. I think I resolved it. It seems to work after the last software update. (before the update, I noticed that the time of day was completely wrong too if I turned off he watch between activities--was not expecting that. but the last update seems to have fixed it.)

Still a bit frustrated that I can't press the "lap" button and get lap functionality during a workout.
