Edge 1000 and Fenix3 combined recovery time

Hi All,

I have an Edge 1000 and just ordered a Fenix3. As I understand it the Fenix3 will give me recovery time advise after training. But if I later use my Edge 1000 on a cycle run is there a way to see the estimated recovery time for both activities? If not is it possible to use the Fenix at the same time as the Edge to get this functionality with the heart rate monitor and Bike sensors?

Best,
/M
  • You will need to use the fenix 3 for the ride also. The way I have my 810 and fenix 3 set up is I have separate Garmin Connect accounts for each and use my f3 for every activity including cycling and I also use my 810, but mainly I am using the 810 because of the display and the ease of using routes, but I use my f3 for all my data tracking. By having separate accounts you avoid double counting rides when you synch both devices. Other people do somehting similar, but have one account and either delete the Edge data, or don't ever synch it at all.
  • GC is, according to their FAQ, supposed to detect a single activity recorded by multiple devices and automatically merge all data. But then I never managed to get this working with my Edge 800 and Fenix 3. And then my Fenx 3 never showed me recovery advise for a ride either. It only advises me for runs. I since gave up on Garmin's recovery advise and instead get going again when I feel like it ;-)
