Map detail Roads are missing!

Hi all,
I have a Garmin edge 1000. I went to edit a course I rode on Sunday and notice that the map does not show all roads. Certain small country lanes are missing. Is there a setting for map detail?
I'm using a windows surface pro 3 computer.
